Crispy Cheesy Hash Browns

A perfect side dish for your breakfast or brunch
Ingredients
- 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons butter or oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes:
- Grate the potatoes and place them in a clean kitchen towel. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Transfer the grated potatoes to a large bowl.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- Add the grated onion, shredded cheese, flour, beaten eggs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Form the Hash Browns:
- Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into patties, about 3–4 inches in diameter.
- Cook the Hash Browns:
- Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the hash browns in batches, cooking for about 3–4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Press gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with sour cream, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
